The Fountainhead - #355
It's a neccesary addition to the city, the water fountains. However I do also think it's one of the best civic amenieties in this city.
Perhaps Ayn Rand would be fascinated with Dubai, although I wonder what the (fictional) Mr Howard Roark would have thought...

I don't think I've ever spotted a water fountain on my travel. I know about the machines on street corners, where you can buy a very cheap bottle of water or Coke etc. If they were here, I'm sure they would all get vandalised.
The Victorians knew all about this. I'm sure they important in the heat of Dubai. Sadly Gailsman has a point.
When I lived in Jeddah even home owners would sometimes put public fountains in the outside walls of their courtyards for the public to use. I thought his highly generous as water costs there what gas (petrol) costs here in the USA.
I like this one a lot - the line, the way they wait and observe.
well, I think this is going to become quite a common sight in the middle east with towering water problems all around Asia.....I guess we just have to get used to it...
