Reading The Palm - #357

This is the main "trunk" of the Jumeriah Palm. This is the reclaimed land that has become pretty infamous and some what synonymous with Dubai.

It seems like an interesting novelty now, I just wonder what it'll be like once all the fronds have been occupied...

Fronds?

It is a dull-looking place something like China wearing Mao jackets. I would get bored in one of those pretty fast.

The most colorful thing there is the yellow stripe down the road and the blue sky.

Are they all finished?

You photograph is worth more than anything I say. LOL

Amazing that only a couple of years ago, all that was just open sea. Shame the apartment blocks look so bland.

It looks even more, er how do you say it.. majestic at night. The buildings on both sides are lit up and look really nice :)
Not that the day shot is bad, it's brilliant!

I would get lost - they all look the same.

I'm laughing at everyone's comments because I'm kind of thinking along the same lines :)

I thought there would be more...well...palm trees! :-D

I wonder why they didn't make the buildings more architecturally distinct to go along with the "dream it, build it" theme of the Jumeriah Palm? Is it to preserve the look of a Tree trunk from the sky?

I've been wondering what the Jumeirah Palm looks like from ground level - thanks for satisfying my curiosity!
Yet, I'm sort of disappointed..
I think I may have been expecting something more Disney World-like - probably because of the weird palm tree shape of the island. Amazing that all of this was water not too long ago.

I have just been reading the comments left and I am wondering if anyone has actually stayed in any of the apartments to get the real feel of what they are like, I have and they are beautiful, you are only seeing the photo which looks like it goes on forever, its a shame a photo was not visible from the front of one of the buildings, also the beach from the other side. each 2 blocks sharing a pool.On the other hand I can also see why residents feel they have lost the old Dubai. I hope to revisit soon
