Caught Between A Hard Rock and a Place - #353
Hard Rock Cafe Dubai - once upon a time this was at the end of the Earth. The tallest and most isolated building, before the Marina madness took hold.
Now it's surrounded by 50+ towers and looks a little quaint and it looks like Spiderman or King Kong should be scaling its diminutive, yet splendid visage.

I've eaten here once. It wasn't bad & had a good time. I'm surprised that you haven't featured this place before.

what you may not see is the building is right next to the SZR construction and across SZR is the new metro.
the building is not as impressive as it was in the past.
It used to be this beacon-standing alone at the 'edge' of Dubai...back when Beach Road ended where the Burj is.
Would have been interesting to see a before and after of this. How long ago are you talking about?
1999 would have had the Hard Rock isolated between Dubai and the then abyss known as the Jebel Ali free zone.
And now it's going to be demolished in the name of progress.
Great decor.....The ultimate rock destination in Dubai. I think its great they will reopen again, in another location.
