Sharjah Mosque - #323

You immediately notice how many mosques there are in Sharjah. Way more than in Dubai it feels and they are very grand affairs too.

Sharjah is a more strict Emirate than Dubai, with generally a more conservative athmosphere and no alcohol allowed at all, more modest clothing etc.

You should see the big one in Dhaid, then. Or the Iranian mosque down by the Dhow port - the Iranian souk area, too. Or the mosque next to the Radisson SAS. Or the 1920s style mosque off Kuwaiti hospital. Or...

You're right. There ARE a lot of mosques in Sharjah! You'd have to dedicate a month of snaps! :)

We've been to Sharjah. Didn't seem to be a lot there. The blue tiled shopping centre didn't look too bad.

I clicked on the picture to see it bigger and WOW! That is a really, really nice building. I wonder what those balconies way up on top of those towers are for?
