The Look Out - #287

Taken on the public beach in Jumeriah today.

There are a surprising amount of people still using the beach even though it was about 42 degrees today. A breeze was trying to help, but it was still very hot.

You can see the Burj Dubai in the background here. It is now the tallest building in the world as far as I know. You can also from this just how close Sheikh Zayed Road (the Burj Dubai is on the SZR) is to the beach.

Current Skyline - #170

As it changes so often, I thought I'd give you an update Dubai skyline.

Second from left is now the seventh tallest building in the world, at 103 floors it is about two thirds built and will be the highest in the world by the end of the year at approx 700 to 800m high. Far right is the twin towers of Emirates Towers Hotel and Business Tower...

History Rising - #94

Here is the Burj Dubai. Burj means tower in arabic. This will be the tallest building in the world when it is finished.

It is currently about 88 floors high. As far as I know it will go to double this...

This was taken yesterday, before the rain started... Dubai is flooded right now...! It happens about once or twice a year.

The Smallest Tallest Building In The World - #24

This is a shot of a scale model of the Burj Dubai and the suurounding developments.

This is currently in progress and the building has reached 70 floors so far (200m). This is currenty claimed to be 1/4 of the final size.
