I have never seen anything like this before. It is for what purpose? To keep the camel from biting? Or is it to keep the sand out of its nostrils? Is it a cap or hat that slipped down over its mouth? Whatever, it looks like the camel has been tamed.

Good questions, Abe. I have the same curiosity about the nose cap. The camel looks somewhat haughty! Perhaps it's a fashion statement?!
The camel is thinking of its days or origin when it could run free and not be subjected to such undignified treatment. But he is resigned to his current life of service and is relieved that at least his nose cap is very colorful.
This cap over camel's mouth is really funny! But colour combination is great.
interesting sight!
Wow! I like it! And the colors are exactly the colors (and layout) of the flag of Colombia. A great photo!
