Photos from in and around Dubai, U.A.E. Coming to you like milk. Fresh on your blogstep everyday.
This man and his friends built this city (contrary to the 80's hit single, it was them, not Starship).
I think that should be applauded. And to be blunt - they deserve so much better.

what is the title of that song of the hit single - I wish I knew so I could understand but the photo is interesting - nice people pic!
Well done Bluey! However, it was ever thus. Let's hope it all comes out well. Let's remember that in England the "Putney Debates" of 1648(?) were considered so advanced as to be in some cases dangerous. However, today we think the proposals somewhat mild! Like you, I wish these common men well, and much good (and thanks) to them.
I think they should receive bravery awards for braving the sweltering heat of Dubai and continuing to build the city endlessly.
Do they make a decent living or are they creating these for the wealthy to enjoy while they suffer in the heat?
Hello All,
Kala - The song is called "We Built This City (On Rock And Roll)"
Anon - your curious - have you posted here before , I think you have... I like the cut of your jib so far...
Kiwi Boy - Or at least some rights!
Eric - They earn a pitance I'm afraid, perhaps more than in their originalo country, but still a pitance... if they receive it at all etc...
There are a lot of comments about this on other sites...
But - the bottom line is they deserve better....
I quite agree with you. In a way it's slavery. Being bussed in everyday from a camp to work in shifts over a 24 hour period, for very little wage. I know some have died either through the heat or accidents. I bet their familes don't get much in compensation.
