Tree, Sky, Rock - #203

Just back from a very pleasant trip to Hatta Fort Hotel, which is about 1 hour from Dubai city although it is still in the Emirate of Dubai. On route you see a lot of these desert scrubb / thorn trees.

It reminded me to post this shot - I like the starkness of the tree and rocky environment it thrives in.

A Thorny Issue - #80

People sometimes think that Dubai and the UAE are all sand and not much else except for the odd 5 star hotel and a camel or two.

There are some great deserts, however there are also rugged mountains with their own fauna and foliage eking out an existance.

These tress are pretty hardy and widespread with their thorny antics.

Wadi Trees - #60

A wadi is a, usually, dry river bed.

I like the dust that has been kicked up in the background and the hues of the sky / mountains.

And ok, I admit it... this is not exactly downtown Dubai... but not far away I promise...
